i was forced to set up a friend with a dude i haven't even met myself last week. The dude is a friend of a friend. my friend insisted that he is a "golden ticket" but he is already 40. i reluctantly agreed to bring my 32 yr old female friend along to a lunch.

let's just start off by saying the person who asked me to do this set up for her friend was not going. instead, she sent her daughter, her son-in-law and her 10 year old grandson to tag along. i only met her daughter once and i had never met the husband and the boy. so when my friend and i were waiting for the "party" to arrive, i was actually trying very hard to remember what the daughter looked like.

when the party arrived, i glanced over the lady and here came 3 strangers. after a brief introduction, i already knew this was a no-no. cuz when i looked up at the dude (i was sitting down), my first impression was ... uncle?!? you know how some 40yr old men can still look very young and on top of that, with a successful career? okay, this dude can be the so-called successful cuz from what i recall, he has his own place in West Vancouver. but does he look young?? i will give him a big NO. he looks like 48 (oh- and he is actually not 40, he is 41 but whatever). my friend, even though she is 32, she looks like 25. so her standing next to him will be like her with... daddy??

the lunch can only be summarized with one word. awkward. and even though the lunch was awkward, i had fun. however, not so much for my friend. lol
